Dublin riots: Bus and cars on fire, fireworks thrown at police and looting

The Irish capital saw outbreaks of disorder on Thursday night as rioters smashed storefronts, set fire to vehicles and clashed with police.

Unrest broke out in the city centre following a knife attack earlier in the day which left four people injured.

Police said misinformation and far-right “hooligan” groups were to blame for the violence.

On Friday, Irish police arrested 34 people after rioters destroyed 11 police vehicles and badly damaged 13 shops during the clashes with police.

Three buses and a tram were also destroyed and several police officers were injured during over three hours of sustained violence.
